Banning Gas

The continued use of gas appliances in homes is a risk both to people and the planet. Alongside the damage this fossil fuel does to the environment, contributing to the ecological catastrophe that is climate change, gas burning also represents a real risk to the health of people living in houses with gas appliances, increasing the risk of asthma and reducing lung function among other health complications.

With the support of the Greens, and following a community campaign supported by groups including 350.org and Doctors for the Environment, new planning rules have been endorsed and will go on exhibition to ban gas in new residential developments and beyond.
