Stop the sell off! Keep Victoria Barracks in public hands

Our public land should be protected for the public good.

The Victoria Barracks is a 15 hectare block of public land in the heart of the inner-city that could be transformed and opened up to deliver green space, community facilities and affordable public homes.

But if the Federal Labor Government's plan to sell-off the Barracks to help pay for the ballooning cost of nuclear submarines from Donald Trump's America goes ahead, all of that will be lost.

We know what happens when public land is sold to developers - it's gone for good.

This is a 15-hectare site in the middle of the City which is already in public hands. Now that it is surplus to ADF requirements we should be jumping at the opportunity to open it up to the public, create more  green space, build publicly-owned, affordable housing all while protecting the rich history and heritage of the Barracks.

Sign our petition to tell Labor you don't want to see the Victoria Barracks sold-off.

Instead this site must:

  1. Be kept in public hands, for the public good.
  2. Open up this land for community, delivering green space, community facilities, and affordable public homes.
  3. Respect and protect the heritage of this historical site.
