Swimming is an important part of Australian culture and no one should miss out! The first Trans and Gender Diverse Open Day was held at Cook + Phillip Park Pool in February 2023, following successful Greens motions through the council.  

Trans and Gender Diverse Open Days are a way to introduce gender diverse people and families to council sporting facilities, in a safe and fun environment. Open days are organised in coordination with LGBTQIA+ organisations, and include face painting, music, bubbles, inflatable unicorns, information about LGBTQIA+ support services, and more.   

Following further Greens motions in 2023, these events have now been established as a regular part of the City of Sydney’s community programming.
